Swan Lake Performance Series
Step into the magical world of Swan Lake in this joyful, age-appropriate performance series designed especially for young dancers. This Spring series is a continuation of our Winter Swan Lake exploration, allowing students to build upon the characters, movement themes, and storytelling introduced earlier in the season.
Over the two terms Winter and Spring,, dancers will learn and rehearse a variety of themed character dances, exploring the story of Swan Lake through imaginative movement and creative play. Students may explore roles inspired by the ballet’s iconic characters, such as the evil sorcerer Von Rothbart, the tempting Odile, the enchanted Odette, and the conflicted Prince Siegfried, in ways that are engaging and accessible for young performers.
As part of the performance experience, students will wear costume elements to represent each character for the performance. All dancerrs perform all the characers. The series culminates in a theater presentation where families and friends are invited to watch and celebrate the dancers’ hard work, confidence, and growth on stage. Performance Costume Kit for those participating in the performances costs $75 and includes: Prince Siegfried (Gold crown & gold cape), Von Rothbart, (Owl wings & mask) Odette, (White tutu & feathered headpiece) Odile, (black tutu & feathered headpiece)
Dancers may begin their journey in the Winter Session or join the Spring Series for a performance-focused experience, similar in spirit to our Nutcracker performances and thoughtfully designed for young dancers.

Class Observation
After many years of teaching experience, I find it is best for students if their parents/guardians are not observing class. Their focus and creative freedom improves in a quiet setting comprised of only the students and the teacher. Parents may observe or assist their child during class in special circumstances only and with prior teacher approval. We invite the parents to observe during scheduled class demonstrations. That being said, I welcome the opportunity to ease your child into an independent class experience with parent+teacher collaboration and support.

-
Class Expectations
To maintain an uninterrupted and creative learning environment we ask that students and parents adhere to the following guidelines:
Arrive to class on time ready to dance in recommended class attire and secured hair.
Remain in class for the full duration without a parent/guardian.
Able to follow simple instructions, listen to and apply direction.
Able to use the restroom independently
